Awesomely boring pictures

I knew I could count on you guys for advice about my weird circulation issues. Also, yay for having MD friends (thanks Lindsay!!). I'm going to keep an eye on things and be careful training. If things act up big-time, I'll head to the doc.

Since I haven't had very many original pictures lately, I figured I'd show you why. It's because I sit here for about 90% of my day and there's really nothing worth taking pictures of.

Like my stuffed dog? Mike gave it to me for Valentine's a couple years ago (before we were married) because I told him all I wanted as a gift ever was a puppy. At least he made good after we were married and let me get Bungee girl.

Yesterday, while I was day dreaming about my long weekend vacation, I realized I have no idea where to run while I'm in Nashville. I could take the weekend off and not run, but that's too easy. So instead, I checked out google street view to see what kind of run I could plot. Look what I found.

Clearly it's a good sign that someone is exercising on the google streetview picture! It means I HAVE to run here now. Plus, there are crazy amounts of nice houses on the route, which means it's 1. safe (I think) and 2. there's tons to look at and keep me entertained. I just have to make sure to bring some crib notes so I don't get lost on the way.

My legs were pretty tired after Monday's 10 miler, but I found Glee on Netflix and managed to power through a 7 miler. Booya! Thanks awkward singing teenagers :).

I know today is the last day for my giveaway, but don't be sad if you don't win because I have another awesome giveaway lined up for next week! Woo!

What do you do when you visit a new place to run?

Now that you know how boring my life is, what do you want to know about me? How can I entertain you?

What's the best Valentine you've ever gotten?

  3. The only out of town places I've run were my dad's (I grew up in that house and thus neighborhood) and my cousin's. I just did loops of my cousin's neighborhood, but I only had 2 miles on the schedule so it wasn't a big deal to do a few loops.

I think you are entertaining! I just vomit up blog posts, so I'm not sure how to suggest ideas.

My best Valentine's gift was tiny diamond studs from my husband (then boyfriend). He surprised me with them and it was so sweet! I lost them, though, which makes me really sad.

  4. My favorite Valentines Day gift was when my husband brought me a potted tulip plant to work. It was awesome! I just thought it was extremely thoughtful :)

We don't do much for Valentines Day b/c our anniversary is on the 28th

  5. I've never tried google street view, but I love usatf.org to find running routes in unfamiliar places. Have you tried it? Other people can save good routes so that you can see where people tend to run.

  6. My best valentine's present was a stuffed pig that sang and danced to "My Girl" :)

When I run in an unfamiliar place, I usually just start the Garmin and wing it. I like your idea of planning it out!

  7. I love exploring new cities by running! I always head to map my run to find a route. The only downside is that you can't really know if they are safe or not unless you talk to someone there. Hmmm, what do I want to know about you....how about a day in the life? Like a breakdown of your schedule. I love seeing how people with different jobs than me spend their days, I know I'm a weirdo. I've gotten some good Valentine's gifts but I think my favorite is my coffee maker!

  10. That looks like a pretty good route. I use google maps and gmaps pedometer to figure out a route. i used it for Gainesville for yesterday and then it was 95 degrees yesterday when we got here and that run never happened.

  13. So Nashville looks beeeeautiful! All green, and full of trees. Utah is only green through spring, and then everything turns brown because it gets nice and hot. I have really been enjoying running on a trail around a park near by. There is also a middle school with a track right there as well. It's just perfect.
