Yesterday, I woke up to some serious fog, like I can't see my mailbox that is 100 yards away kind of fog. The weatherman promised that it would lift, so I decided to wait things out for my run. I probably would have been ok, but I was planning to take Bungee, so I didn't really want to risk my black dog not being visible on main roads. At lunchtime, the weather was a glorious 50 degrees, 100% humidity, and only slight fog. That's like summer weather compared to last week.
Bungee was loving life and had a pretty speedy run, for her. We did 10 really hilly miles in an hour and 35 minutes (9:30 min/mile). The roads were muddy, so we were both pretty gross when we got home.

| Mud or a deadly contagious disease?? |
All I can say is that thank goodness today is a rest day. After finishing up yesterday, I wasn't sleepy tired, but it was definitely a struggle every time I wanted to get up for a drink or grab something from the printer. My legs are beat. 35 miles in three days is a lot for these puppies.

| She only has two legs to complain about. I have four. |
I ended up going to bed early last night after some relaxation with a bottle of prosecco, but unfortunately had a horrible night's sleep. We had 60 mile per hour winds all night that terrified the dog and kept making it sound like things were falling off of shelves in the house (trees were breaking and falling in the woods behind us). So, today, I will really be living up this rest day to all it's possible glory. I'm not sure what that means, yet, but it's going to happen.
What do you do on rest days?
I clean the house on my rest days to punish myself for being a loser who isn't running.
ReplyDeleteThe wind was terrifying me last night. I kept convincing myself it was gonna uproot a tree, which would then crash into Harrison's room and crush him. Paranoid much?
ReplyDeleteEveryone at work is talking about how they couldn't sleep with all the wind, but I was exhausted and slept like a baby! Running in it was another story, however. I'm so jealous you have all the tough weekday workouts done - but now I'm finished with 2/3! Just gotta get through those 18 miles Saturday...
ReplyDeleteHappy resting for both of you--well earned! We're back to blowing snow and single digits. Yay.
ReplyDeleteYou weren't kidding, those were some muddy roads.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that I'm not the only one who can't sleep through high winds. Those storms moved through here the night before last and I couldn't sleep a wink. Tornado warnings aren't much fun. Ended up knocking out half the towns power where I work. Oddly enough, my work still had power. Yay. Not.
