Today is my Friday

I have no idea what's going on, but I've turned on comment moderation for a little bit until the mass amounts of spam comments stop pouring in. Don't worry, though, there won't be any word verification to drive you insane.

First things first, happy birthday to my awesome mom! She's spending the day traveling, so we won't be doing much to celebrate today. Maybe I'll steal her an extra piece of cake from my brother's wedding,  put a candle in it, make everyone sing. That won't annoy anyone.

The whole family at my wedding.

I'm so excited, today is my Friday! Tomorrow we are off to the great snowy state of Michigan. Unfortunately, today is far from being a beautiful day, so I think I might be stuck inside for my run. I'm all for running in the rain when it's warm out, but when the rain is actually freezing rain and it's coming down in torrents, I'll take my chances with the treadmill.

Maybe if I had a skin-tight spidey suit I'd like it more.
I have seven miles on schedule, but I think I'll save those for tomorrow to tucker Bungee out before dropping her off at my in-laws. Instead, I have another easy 4 miles. I told Mike that I thought 4 miles didn't even seem worth it and he told me I was becoming a snobby runner and he wasn't sure he liked it. Hopefully, I'll revert back to my lazy runner days after this training. Then again, I'm pretty sure this training has broken me and I will never be a normal runner again.

The rain means Bungee won't be running today. Clearly running with her every day is working out great. Yesterday, a man thought she was so well behaved that he asked if she was a service dog. He was pretty confused when I just cracked up in response. No, she's not a service dog, but she will be incredibly well behaved while waiting in line if she knows it'll get her a ton of treats at the Post Office window.

What are your exercise plans for today?

Are you a snobby runner, too?

  2. My exercise plans for today are picking up Harrison 32 times and carrying him around for a total of 78 minutes (you may think I'm joking, but holding that kid really is a work out). No, I'd say I'm not a snobby runner... :)

    1. It seriously is, I think after LPM my new plan is to get my arms in shape to hold Harrison when he finally decides to let me again and prepare for his cousins.

  3. You need to have Bungee run a half marathon with you! I took my dog on a 5K once and although he acted insane around other people, he actually pulled me along to a PR. That was about 2 years ago but it was kinda fun. Oh, he almost took out a water table as well.

Jealous today is your Friday though not of the freezing rain.
    Happy Birthday to your Mom!

  6. This weather is awful! Was going to take the dogs (dog sitting for my sister) for a long walk this morning but even they refused to step out the door. I settled for an ab/glute workout while watching some Top Model reruns :)

  7. Yuck- that freezing rain is what we had yesterday morning, and it sure was coming down in sheets.

This morning I did some Jillian 30 day shred and I have a 4 mile recovery run on schedule for this evening. I don't think I'm a snobby runner. I'm usually just happy to be out there and running, even though some days I'm slow and other days I do a little better (although still on the slower spectrum for most people, I think).

  8. I definitely have become a snobby runner. "Bad" socal weather is weather I would have just had to deal with running in in nj. If it's really windy, overcast, and might rain... and i have some flexibility in my schedule that week? "meh, maybe I will just wait til tomorrow to run." I miss running in snow though. The packed kind, not the slushy mess.
